2026.38.5.11: Halloween Mode, Emergency Drive Away and FSD v14.3.13
Tesla's 2026.38.5.11 adds Halloween Mode, Emergency Drive Away and FSD Supervised v14.3.13 for HW4, plus FSD changes for HW3 cars.
Tesla has published the release notes for software version 2026.38.5.11. It mixes seasonal extras with changes that affect how you charge and how FSD Supervised drives. Notes give no release date, so check your car for the update.
Halloween Mode
Halloween Mode brings a ghost costume, spooky sounds, a light show and a photobooth. Halloween wraps and licence plates now reach Intel vehicles, but the other Halloween features are still left out on those cars.
Charging changes
The feature owners should read twice is Emergency Drive Away. It lets the car move while a Supercharger cable is still connected. Tesla says it is only for emergencies, because it damages the car and the Supercharger. The owner may be responsible for repair costs, and the car shares short camera recordings with Tesla when it is used. Treat it as a last resort, not a way to save a few seconds.
Tesla is also testing Supercharger site maps at select pilot locations, showing live occupancy. If one is near you, it may help you pick a stall or judge how busy a site is before you arrive.
You can now set Arrival Energy from your phone. This needs Mobile App v4.58.0 or later, so update the app first.
FSD Supervised v14.3.13 on HW4
The HW4 build, v14.3.13, uses upgraded reinforcement learning training. Tesla lists these changes:
- An upgraded vision encoder for rare and low-visibility scenes
- A rewritten AI compiler and runtime using MLIR, which Tesla ties to a 20% faster reaction time
- Better response to emergency vehicles and school buses
- A display of distance travelled and your longest intervention-free streak
Tesla lists reasoning beyond destinations and pothole avoidance as upcoming, not included yet. Automatic Collision Evasion on HW4 now engages FSD Supervised when the driver is inattentive.
What changes for HW3 and Intel cars
FSD Supervised v14.3 Lite brings learning from HW4 to HW3. It adds parking, unparking and reversing, plus Arrival Options of Parking Lot, Street or Driveway. A new speed profile called SLOTH is slower than CHILL, which may suit nervous passengers. HW3 Model 3 and Model Y gain Start Self-Driving from Park. Legacy Model S and X with Intel and HW3 get FSD Streaks.
Smaller items
- Grok is no longer labelled beta and is available worldwide
- Service mode now saves your language and restores it on exit
- The High Voltage panel shows an isolation alert popup per component
- Dynamic Headlight Leveling adjusts low beams on specific vehicles
- A Model Y L Launch Series badge animation is included but undocumented
- Security fixes are included, with no details given
If you drive an FSD car, read the notes before your next supervised trip. If you use Superchargers, update the app and remember that Emergency Drive Away can cost you money.
