How this is calculated

Should I trust WLTP range?
WLTP figures are noticeably more optimistic than the US EPA ones for the same car. Treat them as a best case in mild weather; motorway speeds and a British winter commonly cut 20–35%. Our Range Estimator adjusts for those conditions.
Why does the most expensive car sometimes lose the least per year?
It doesn't often — pricier trims usually shed more dollarspounds, even when the percentage is similar. But a family with a stronger resale curve can narrow the gap. The ownership row shows the dollarspounds, which is what you actually pay.
Should I trust EPA range?
Treat it as a best case for mixed driving in mild weather. Highway speeds and cold weather commonly cut 15–30%. Our Range Estimator adjusts for those conditions.
